Solitude Time
Solitude time is one of the best ways I make time for myself. During this time, I journal, read my Bible, pray and spend some time being thankful and embracing the moment. I enjoy the quiet stillness of my house and the knowledge my family is near, asleep in their beds. I take time to relish the moment and close my eyes and savor the minute. Because it’s the calm before the chaos of the day. The length of my solitude time is flexible. I would love to have a whole hour every day but some days, it may only be 15 minutes.
Girl’s or Couple’s Night out
I try to organize a girl’s night out. It’s not as budget-friendly as my solitude time. But it gets me out of the house and it’s always great to hang out with other women. I aim to do a girl’s night out (or a couple’s night out) once a month. Since it’s dependent on schedules and finances, it doesn’t happen every month but pretty close.
Walks
I enjoy walks, especially in some of the nature parks around me. The beauty of nature always refreshes my soul. Whether it’s the wind rusting through the trees or the sound of birds chirping. I find it all tranquil and relaxing. Fall and spring are my favorite seasons to walk.
Self-care
Sometimes I don’t have the luxury to leave the house. On those days I watch a favorite movie, do my nails (my nails look bad all the time, so this is a treat for me), take a soak in the tub, cuddle up with a good book, or even learn something new. Basically leisure activities I generally don’t have time to do.
Creating
I also like to create, whether that’s an art project, crafts, or baking. This is a little bit harder to do because it requires more time. But when I do find the time, I turn on the music, tune out the world, and let my creative energy flow.
