A Psalm of David

Although this is the season of joy and being thankful, I know this may not be the case for everyone. Problems don’t take a backseat or go away during this time. For some people, it actually gets harder during the holiday season.

For those who are going through a difficult time, I offer this Psalm which was written by King David. It is believed he wrote this when he was facing a particularly daunting battle against the Ammonites recorded in 2 Samual 10.

I hope it encourages you.

In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry.

May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm.

May he send you help from his sanctuary

    and strengthen you from Jerusalem.

May he remember all your gifts

and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude

May he grant your heart’s desires

and make all your plans succeed.

May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory

and raise a victory banner in the name of our God.

May the Lord answer all your prayers.

Psalm 20:1-5 NLT
