Biography
Angela and her husband, Byron have been married for 34 years. Actually, August is their wedding anniversary and they’ll be celebrating their 34th this month.
They have three kids. Their oldest is a daughter and she’s living on her own.
Their second child, Davis is 24 years old and has a rare condition called Hypomelanosis of Ito (HMI). He’s also out of the house and currently resides at Bethany Children’s Health Center, formerly known as The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital, in Bethany, Oklahoma.
Their youngest is another a son and he’ll be attending his first year of college this fall.
Career
Angela works full-time as a Systems Analyst for T-Mobile. It was actually known as Sprint when she started 25 years ago. But two years ago Sprint merged with T-Mobile.
Volunteer work
In addition to her full-time work, she also volunteers in the children’s ministry at her local church. She’s been faithfully serving the elementary-aged kids (grades 1 -3) for 20 years now. It’s her experience working with the kids that has taught her the value of a hug. It’s something she always makes sure she does because she’s learned “you never know what a hug can do for someone.”
Fun facts
1. She’s a huge OSU (Oklahoma State University) fan, as is her family.
2. She and Byron both attended OSU and it’s where they met.
3. She has a patent for a new type of billing system she helped create years ago.
4. She and Byron work for T-Mobile and both work from home.
5. She has a wide variety of Spode Christmas Tree dinnerware, drinking glasses, silverware, serving dishes, etc. You name it, I’m sure she has it. She’s been collecting them for many years.
Her tradition is to bring them out every year the day after Thanksgiving and her family HAS to use them until the week after New Year’s. They have no choice because she puts her other dishes away in storage.
Her family isn’t as excited about this tradition as she is, largely because some of the pieces need to be hand-washed. But I believe life is about creating memories and if that means washing a few dishes during the holiday season, so be it.
I’m sure this will be a tradition her kids will remember as they get older and have families of their own.
Passion
One of Angela’s greatest joys is spending time with her family. Whether that means family vacations, holidays, attending the kids sporting events or just hanging out at movie nights or at their pool.
Angela views her family as one of her greatest blessings. Her passion is to treasure and enjoy those whom God has entrusted to her care.
