Biography

Megan was born and raised in Oklahoma. The Oklahoma City of her childhood wasn’t as urban as it is today. Instead, there were a lot more open spaces and fewer developments. Her favorite memories are of driving down country roads. Being out in the middle of nowhere with county music playing on the radio and seeing as far the eye can see without anything hindering the view. With all the growth that’s happening in Oklahoma, she misses those drives.

Career

She has a degree in Family Life Education-Child Development. She worked in that field for about 2 years before working in a veterinary clinic for about a year. After the birth of her first child, she quit working outside the home.

Volunteer work

Megan and her husband are very involved with a church plant. It’s exciting being involved in a church that’s just starting out and being able to celebrate all its milestones. Such as the transition from meeting at an elementary school to building its own building. Or even the excitement of annually commemorating the day the church launched, it will be going on 5 years soon.

Megan also enjoys volunteering at the church. She alternates between teaching the 5th & 6th-grade classroom, doing lights for worship, and being on the prayer team. She also hopes to start a small group soon.

Fun Fact

Megan and her husband actually met at a bar. It was the proverbial being at the right place at the time (an expression taken from Proverbs 9:11) scenario.

Both Megan and her would-be husband were at the same bar, but with different people. Megan was there with her brother and her soon-to-be husband was there with his friends. When he was told Megan was not with anyone, he asked her to dance. Although they danced a couple of dances, they spent most of their time talking.

He went home with her number and ten years and two kids later, they haven’t stopped talking. Megan says he was the first man who ever asked her about church.

Passion

Megan hopes by sharing her story, other moms will experience the hope and encouragement she’s felt trusting God through all the unknowns and the waiting.
